- First, open the Instagram application.
- Go to your profile icon.
- Click on these three lines.
- Go to settings and privacy.
- Scroll down and click on messages and story replies.
1. Message Control
So click on Message Control which means to decide whether message requests go to your chat list in your message request folder or whether to receive them at all. So first is your followers on Instagram. Your followers on Instagram can send you messages so if that message you want to receive or not if you don't want to receive then click on don't receive request. Then click on update settings if you want a message request then click on this message request.
2. Others on Instagram
Others mean those who don't follow you on Instagram so click on this if you want a message request from those who do not follow you on Instagram then click on message request if you do not want to receive a request from those who do not follow you then click on don't receive request.
3. Who can add you to groups
So you can select everyone on Instagram if you select this everyone on Instagram you can be added to groups by everyone on Instagram except by people you blogged means if if you have blocked someone then they can't add you on any groups other than that can add you on any group and the second option is only people you follow on Instagram if you click on this you can't be added to groups but anyone you don't follow people you don't follow and haven't blocked will know that you don't allow everyone to add you to group if they try to so you can select anyone from them now go back go back now the second option is story replies here is three option allow story replies from everyone allow story replies only from people you follow don't allow story replies so you can select anyone from them go back now the third option is show activity status means you are active on Instagram you want to show to anyone or you don't want to show with your followers or following list so you can toggle that off if you don't want if you want then toggle it off and the second one is show when you are active together if someone is active on your chat and you are also active on that chat then the messages appear on the chat that you both are active on that chat so if you want this then toggle it on if you don't want this toggle it off now go back the last option is security alerts if you want any security alert your devices or Keys change if something is change on your device or Keys then you get the security alert you can toggle it on or off and the second one is contacts Dev devices or Keys change if something is Chang on context contacts or device then you get allerted if you want to toggle it on then on otherwise toggled it off it means show alerts in a chat when you or your contact add a device remove a device or Keys change shows the alert if someone has changed their device are security Alert in your messages so these are the settings for messages and story replies.
